Chief Executive Officer and Board Member

Julian Proctor is Chief Executive Officer and a Board Member of Purus.

Julian has 28 years' experience in the transportation industry. Mr. Proctor was previously Chief Investment Officer at Tiger Group, a large ship owner based in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo, with over 190 vessels. Julian was a board member, observer or executive of the various private and publicly listed ship-owning businesses of Tiger Group. Prior to that, he was Chief Strategy Officer of BNP Paribas Fortis Asia Pacific, reporting directly to the CEO and was a member of the regional board.

Julian holds an M.St. from the University of Cambridge, where he was the recipient of the Oxford University Press Bryman and Bell Prize. Mr. Proctor speaks Japanese and is the founder of the UK – Japan Leadership Program and a member of the China – Japan Leadership Program and Chatham House. He is also a member of Bureau Veritas' Council of Advisors.
